I am off to a good start with the new school year. Our first day was magnificient! Now, I just need to figure out how to keep that positive momentum going. Part of being successful is planning ahead. The week always goes so smoothly when I do just that one simple little step – time consuming – but simple. We are not a very good “wing-it” type of family. I know that works well for some people, but it just makes us cranky.
In an effort to smoothly progress, I’ve made up my monthly menu. Having a menu helps our evenings remain calm and unstressful. Everybody eats a healthy (or mostly healthy) meal at a reasonable supper time which leaves plently of time for clean-up, showers, devotions, and a decent bed time.
Going to bed relaxed, clean, and full at a reasonable time makes the mornings so much happier. Nobody is overtired, so we are all cheerful and pleasant and eager to help get the daily deeds done. (Like that alliteration? LOL!)
How do you work out your family meals? Do you plan by coupons, meal favorites, or do you just wing it?
(I should probably make a menu for chores, too…hmmmmm…Do you have one?)
